Firstly I must point out that I do not perform as ‘Wee Phillie’ in this venue. It is a very different side of me you will see (the nice me, if you like!). So don’t visit expecting to see the ‘blue’ show as you will be disappointed. However, if you do pay us a visit, make sure you come over and say hello. I’m the one on the DJ stand dressed as a cowboy!

Working as myself ‘Phil Monk’, this venue gives me a break from the pressure of performing the comedy show. Buffalo Joe’s is a western themed saloon bar situated on the Gateshead side of ‘the Quayside’. The Buffalo Girls are dressed in sexy bikinis, cowboy hats and chaps, whilst the Buffalo Boys are bare-chested for the girls! The bar staff perform shows and dance routines on the bar every 30 minutes. Along with ‘Shooter Frenzies’, ‘Fistful of Dollars’, ‘Wig Wam Bam’s’, ‘Girl’s On Film’ and much more, there is always something to keep you entertained.

Buff’s is a fantastic place to DJ. It gives me the chance to create the best party atmosphere in the north by diggin’ out all those old (and I mean old) favourites you haven’t heard for yonks. The saying is: “Anything goes in Buffalo Joes” and how true that is. So if it’s trendy RnB or the latest dance tunes you’re after then it’s probably best to give this place a wide berth. Because of the style of music we play Buff’s does attract an older clientele, this does also create a more relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

People travel from all over just to visit Buffalo Joe’s; it is very popular on a weekend with Stag and Hen parties. We have lots of people from Scotland and the Irish like to visit in numbers too. You normally find on a weekend all four corners of the globe are represented.
